Kitty stands up to look out

Birds just out of reach

Wind blows leaves about

So much to chase beyond glass

Cat is not amused

    From a cat’s point of view, even if blocked by a window, the cat thinks the birds are just out of reach, meaning, almost ‘gettable.’ That’s the great thing about cats, no difference between who they are and what they do.
