Still yourself and hear
Geese are passing overhead
Proclaiming bedtime
Winging their way home
Pulling the night sky behind
Shadows in twilight

I find myself using superlatives when it comes to your poetry, and I am not a superlatives kind of ‘gal. Perhaps the appeal to me is “short, sweet, and to the point” as my grandmother used to recommend.

A gentleman friend of mine, picked up one of my books one day and as he was reading through it, he looked at me and said, “This is haiku? I like it, these are short!” So I totally respect, accept and revel in YOUR compliment. Writing haiku has taught me to hone my thoughts into a much more focused presentation! 🙂
