He jumped off the swing and snapped a spearmint leaf off a nearby bush. It chewed like grass, sliding between his teeth but the flavor was refreshing and cool.
Flopping down on the ragged webbing of the chaise lounge. he fell into a light dreamy summer sleep.
“Mitch! Mitch! Wake up and pick those strawberries for me.”
It took a moment for him to remember the original purpose for going outside was to get the berries for his mother. As he plucked each plump piece of juicy fruit, he put one in the bowl and one in his mouth.
No better way to pick berries.
