In response to Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto prompt for this week, I submit this 99-word tale. Please consider joining in the fun, either this week or in weeks to come. FOLLOW Sue Vincent here.
I’m watching you, just like you watch me. You place yourself in strategic spots amongst the trees, dressed in clothes to help you blend in so I won’t notice. But I do notice.
Of course, my being aware has come at a price. One by one, you have taken the young ones for purposes only you can justify. Do their heads look good above your mantle?
So now, I have had enough. I am old and will soon die probably on my own. To honor those of my family who had no choice in the matter, take me now.
