She’d been in a corner of the room since her admission to the nursing home. On her left, a curtain and her right, a wall made her feel secure. The window let her see the sky with all its brilliant colors. She’d watch birds and feral cats all day. Then one day they moved her to the other side.
Not a comfy space. She felt thoroughly exposed. Could no longer see the sky. On the third day, she shifted forward in her bed and realized she saw the building’s exit door. Smiling, she knew that was her next move!
