Sue Vincent gave us a peace-filled photo to inspire us to write a piece this week. It reminded me of a place in Temperance, Michigan, called Indian Creek and my friends who chose to build their home on property no one else seemed to want as the creek cut a rather strange swath through the land. Who chose who? perhaps, Indian Creek was just waiting for them, eh? Choice indeed!

They chose to live on Indian Creek. It wasn’t particularly beautiful property. In fact, most people didn’t give the space a second look. But Lisa saw the qualities this quiet palace of nature possessed with its untamed brush and clear, running waters. She chose to stay home and tend to the land, while her husband worked in the city.
As night began to fall, the two of them sat on the rocks in the creek, sipping coffee, watching fish swim and appreciating in silence, the beauty of Indian Creek. Honored the creek chose to allow them to live there.

You’ve sketched some interesting characters here! I like the way you tell their story and the story of the creek, all woven together.

It truly seemed to a relationship of mutual respect.

I am glad the creek didn’t rise up and dispel them, Annette.

The way you wrote this, I completely understand why they love that spot. The three seem to be meant for each other.
