Joyce had never had to answer to a Board of Directors before. And this being the first Christmas holiday with them, she wasn’t even certain if she should get them gifts
She decided to do something edible so she made a variety of sweets which included chocolate-covered pretzels, Hopscotches, peanut brittle, honeycomb, and hard-crack cinnamon-flavored candies.
The kitchen smelled of sugar and spice! Joyce could only hope these humble gifts would be suitable for her new bosses.
Each gaily wrapped plate was delivered personally. The shocked Board members never expected such a sweet gesture from their new Executive Director.
