Hola Annette, I have just listened to your ‘mellifluous’ voice for the first time, and what an apt word…I dislike my own: London/Essex voice (UK citizen retired in Spain) and – something quite strange has happened. I have a new site and the powers that be…have changed the headings, which now read – Joy Lennick WordPress, GMail, Annette Rochelle A…and Joy Lennick Writing. However did that happen? Not that I’m averse to having your name there, but still very odd. As I’m impetuous an d have just written a new, hopefully amusing, poem – here it is…
A Nose
How handy a nose is:
a most worthy proboscis…
that sits neatly in centre of face,
Pert, snub, Roman or aquiline:
his, hers, yours or mine –
they complete our expressions with grace.
They have many uses –
can sniff out some ruses;
detect dangerous gases and trouble.
But, when they’re on form,
and conditions are norm,
they can look down at us all,
with disdain.
I know it’s absurd
but the thought has occurred,
suppose noses were placed upside down?
Without an umbrella –
a rain squall – dilemma…
for we all, for sure, would be drowned!!
