Look Beyond

In response to Colleen Chesebro’s weekly Tanka Tuesday challenge. Poets are allowed to choose their own words. I chose BEAUTY and SLAVE.

Her beauty

Ever her captor

She the slave

To her looks

Longing to truly be seen

Appreciated

Risking my own life

silent siren

Fascinate

Her goal every day

To bewitch

And to charm

Effortlessly she would float

As though she had wings

nice try

Eyes

Rolled twice

About face

FORWARD MARCH, now

We don’t tolerate

That TYPE of behavior

Young lady, you know better

Than to lick all the chocolate

From the raisin and peanut candies

And then put them back in the covered dish
