The cupboard is filled
China dogs, porcelain cats
Dried floral bouquets
She’s collected memories
That mean nothing to her now

Thank you, for your Attitude of Gratitude:
At times we question our emotions or even attempt to control them believing emotions are a sign of weakness. This can be toxic leaving us truly weak.
Affirmation: I embrace my emotions with gratitude!
I love you, Annette Rochelle Aben
In response to Sue Vincent’s weekly #writephoto prompt of this week: Web
It was my suit of armor, the web of lies I wove. Couldn’t let them get to know the real me for then they would surely leave. I was a more interesting person with the lies. I felt powerful.
Shield yourself from the pain of rejection. Never allow them to walk away first. Don’t give them the power of thinking they have your number!
When I choose to, I can peel off the armor and free myself of the weight of it all. But who am I fooling? It’s just another lie I tell to make myself feel strong.
A river of tears
Flowing freely from within
Clears a path for joy
