Such a pleasure, yes
To hear dad’s voice on the phone
Was like a tonic
He’s recovering
After some eye surgery
Healing takes time
He expected more
Wanting just to be normal
And independent
Today he got it
He is really progressing
Just as he should be
His laughter, like the
Sunshine calling him outside
To rest and relax
You’re doing great dad
Your new eye needs to catch up
With the rest of you
