When she performed

She turned many heads

A treat for eyes and ears

The motion in her ocean

Validated the existence

Of people’s prurient interests

And of course, got her thrown in jail as well

I’d Be Poplar

As a child…

I remember someone asking me

Of I knew what I wanted to grow up to be

And I couldn’t think of anything you see

Until I thought about being a tree

A place for all those homey nesters

And a place for weary traveling resters

A haven for curious wisdom questers

Giving and receiving love, so free

From deep inside, I smiled with glee

I must have known all along, I was meant to be a tree

Baked Bait

Sally Cronin chose the words for this week’s #TankaTuesday Challenge from Colleen Chesebro. EAGER & HOPE (synonyms only) – I chose to create an Abhanga using the words: AMBITION and ANXIOUS.

Her ambition was to

Bring most men to their knees

Anxious they should be pleased

She learned to cook
