Sprite Fright

As

The mist

Is lifting

Tiny beings

Find themselves exposed

Seeking sanctuary

Of trees, bushes, and flowers

Too timid for interaction

With elementals of human kind

Waiting silently for mist to return

When

I was

A small child

I’d watch the rain

Every time it fell

In full awe of the show

Wondering when it would stop

Excited to have big puddles

Stayed on the porch until it was safe

Took off my socks and shoes and went dancing

bliss

Softly came the rain

Trees relished in the cleansing

The thirsty ground drank

The sun decided to nap

As birds flew above the clouds

A Turn On

The sun’s eyes of light

Rays dancing upon water

Leaves turning upward

The Main Event

Rain gently falling

Birds and squirrels deep in trees

Wind plays with the drops
