Birthday Wishes Fulfilled

What a lucky duck am I!  I have the greatest friends in the world, blogging or otherwise. I put it out there, that I wanted only REVIEWS for my books as a birthday gift. Know what? I  GOT SOME!

Thank you!  Thank you! Thank you ALL!

3 of my 9 self-published books received 2 new reviews each and they were glowing. My heart just swelled with pride, because it was as though 3 of my children were being acknowledged for their outstanding existence. What parent wouldn’t be smiling??

*interestingly enough… as I look at the picture below, those 3 books, just happen to be the first 3 in the pictured in the collage…

I know, from speaking with other authors, that selling books seems to be easier than asking for or even receiving reviews.  In many ways, I understand that and in many I do not.  So, I figured I’d ask.  My suggestion to other authors is this, KEEP ASKING!  There are any number of reasons why people do not leave reviews just as there are reasons why people will visit Amazon, Goodreads or even take to their blog/social media and sing the praises of a book they just read.

To those, who took advantage of some special pricing I offered on Kindle versions of 5 of my books over the last 5 weeks, thank you so much and I hope you are pleased with your purchases. To those who, also went back to Amazon and left 5-Star Reviews or posted a 5-Star Review on your blog, thank you so much! I am honored.

So, what’s next?  Soon, a COVER REVEAL for my latest book (s).  Oh my, did I let that slip…  One book at a time but YES, there are two more books due out before the end of this year. Just tweaking the first and getting ready to order the proof of the second.  I am not sure which is more exciting, giving birth to a new book or celebrating the reviews.  I’ll take any excuse for a party!

Offer Valid in the United States only

Well, heck fire… I did not know this.

When I began posting the .99 eBook specials, every Wednesday, in honor of my birthday request for REVIEWS for my books, I had no idea that people outside of the U. S. could NOT see the lower price when they went to the link I provided. Thanks to Chris Graham, who sent me an email, I realized there was an issue. He explained that when he clicked on the link, it showed a price other than the .99 I posted.

Huh?

After sending and receiving several inquiring emails, I was contacted by Kindle Direct Publishing (yes, they actually called ME) and informed that, yes, people clicking onto my link, from anywhere other than the United States, would not be able to buy my book at the .99 price. I guess I can choose to make the lower price valid in only market at a time. So, if I choose to make this price available in the U.S.,  then I have to run the offer again making it valid in another market. However, Kindle Countdown Deals (for the same book) have to be run months apart.

I am so sorry, I did not know this before I began this campaign, which I have scheduled to run for 5 consecutive Wednesdays….

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all those who have been kind enough to purchase my books during this promotion, regardless of where they live. I did not know, you weren’t getting the deal and you could have blown this off.  Thank you, also for the kind reviews that have been being left, you are helping to make my birthday wish come true.

I am still looking into this, because, as Chris pointed out, there are other authors out there who appear to be able to promote their reduced price books in several markets at the same time. Until I get this sorted out, I will put the disclaimer: Offer Valid in the United States Only and apologize, in advance, for any grief this causes anyone.

Cheers,

Annette Rochelle Aben

Thank you, Frank

Woo hoo!  A couple days ago, I posted,  Birthday Wishes  which was all about what I wanted for my birthday.  What did I ask for? Well, you could just click on the link and find out, but, basically, I asked for REVIEWS for the books I have written and published.

Then, I created another post, Let’s Get This Party Started offering an eBook version of the first book I ever self-published, at a Kindle Countdown price of .99.

Here is the book, and here is the 5 STAR REVIEW posted on Amazon, by Frank Hubeny

 A Blessing from the Heart – September 28, 2017

“This is a book of inspirational poems, prayers or blessings. They have a nice sound and they often contain rhyme. Some are acronyms where the first letter of the words spells out the message underlying the other words. The blessings are all positive as good blessings should be.

The author has other books, maintains a blog and writes at the online The Magic Happens Magazine. So there are other opportunities to read more of her writing

The ebook is laid out in an interesting way. Unlike a poetry book, which is what I thought this was initially. Each poem is not on it’s own page nor are there titles for the poems individuating them. If they were laid out in that manner, the book would have perhaps three times as many pages in it. These writings are more fluid than isolated poems which makes me think they are not really poems although one might be able to pick them apart like that. So I changed my perspective and experienced them as prayers or meditations that interweave and become one blessing inviting the reader to make even more changes in perspective.”

Thank you, Frank, for your purchase and this lovely review  I am touched that you found a special way to connect with the book AND that you enjoyed enough to share with others via your review.  MOST appreciated.

For those who have yet to experience Perspective it’s all about replacing one thought with another, it will be .99 until Oct 4th. And here is the Direct Link  to get YOURS and where you can go to leave a REVIEW once you have the opportunity!
