Sue Vincent gave us a lovely #writephoto prompt this week: Daybreak. It reminded me of an old boyfriend, who confessed to me, after being together for quite some time, that he was color blind. Sadly, he passed before the technology that could have helped him experience the colorful beauty of this world was invented. CHECK OUT Sue’s blog to participate in the weekly fun!

If she’d been able to see colors, even at one time in her life, Jackie might have felt left out when her friends raved about things like beautiful sunsets. To her, everything was varying degrees of grey. Her whole world was about to change.
The morning of her birthday, there was a, gaily wrapped box next to her bed. Digging through boxes inside of boxes Jackie finally came upon the smallest box. She took out the curious glasses, put them on and gave out a cry. Everywhere she looked, she was mesmerized. Especially by the magnificence of the sunrise.
