Be Still and Know

Resting her head on tucked up legs, Lisa gazed in to the sea. Where did it start? Where did it end? How many stories did it have to tell? Well, it had one more story now.

Lazy fingers traced the outline of the small, white cardboard box by her side. She knew she had done the right thing by releasing her mother’s ashes into the water. She was setting her free from a life of misery.

The sun melted into ribbons of silken colors; Lisa knew it was a sign from her mother.

“Peace be with you, Mom!”
