Makes my mouth water thinking about the yummy prompt of Candy Kitchen for the most recent 99-word flash fiction challenge from Charli Mills. Head on over to the Carrot Ranch for terrific opportunities to have great fun WRITING!
Joyce had never had to answer to a Board of Directors before. And this being the first Christmas holiday with them, she wasn’t even certain if she should get them gifts
She decided to do something edible so she made a variety of sweets which included chocolate-covered pretzels, Hopscotches, peanut brittle, honeycomb, and hard-crack cinnamon-flavored candies.
The kitchen smelled of sugar and spice! Joyce could only hope these humble gifts would be suitable for her new bosses.
Each gaily wrapped plate was delivered personally. The shocked Board members never expected such a sweet gesture from their new Executive Director.

Oh, that is a really sweet gesture! And it’s a good story, too. I can just imagine how good that kitchen smelled!

Such a sensory tale — sugar and spice — and yet one from the heart, too. I’m sure that gesture went over sweetly, Annette.
